Sorry folks, 8 years and $4 trillion to get a guy is NO victory

I think terror attacks are going to continue against the US no matter what terrorist leader we take down, economy we destroy, buildings we level or innocent civilian lives we destroy as collateral.

Terrorism against the United States is a result of American neo-colonialism, specifically, propping up corrupt regimes all over the world, especially in the Middle East. This type of foreign policy is required for our country to maintain the pathology called consumerism and a unique car culture, which in turn requires cheap hydrocarbon energy in order to maintain.

Sorry folks, 8 years and $4 trillion to get a guy is NO victory. Osama is laughing in his grave at how well he kicked our a$$.

Yeah, we may have the cheapest gasoline of all oil importing countries, but I guarantee that when you figure our defense budget from a tax payer standpoint, factor in the eventual cost of terrorism in terms of our civil liberty and reckon the loss of lives and limbs to our men and women in uniform, we pay more for that gallon of gas than anyone on the planet.

Having said that, I’ll just say that, ‘some people should die, that’s just unconscious knowledge.’ But I wish we could use our unparalleled special forces to bring to justice the criminals from Capitol Hill, Wall Street, K Street, the military-industrial complex and most especially their greedy and soulless corporate masters who just want you to stop thinking and keep shopping.

The failure by the Obama administration to use the bailout and stimulus money to build public works such as schools, libraries, roads, clinics, highways, public transit and reclaiming dams, as well as create green jobs, has snuffed out any hope of serious economic, political or environmental reform coming from the centralized bureaucracy of the corporate state. And since the government did not hire enough auditors and examiners to monitor how the hundreds of billions in taxpayer funds funneled to Wall Street are being spent, we will soon see reports of widespread mismanagement and corruption. The rot and corruption at the top levels of our financial and political systems, coupled with the increasing deprivation felt by tens of millions of Americans, are volatile tinder for a horrific right-wing backlash in the absence of a committed socialist alternative.

If you haven’t read the entire article get to it. I imagine a number of progressives are howling mad at Hedges, who says bluntly that the Obama administration and the Democratic Party have sold out and are useless as engines of positive change. — Ryking

True dat! Obama is a gigantic disappointment and needs to pack his fucking bags.

Robert Gibbs attacks the fringe losers of the left

I voted for and had high hopes for Obama. I considered his election an historic moment. I’ve withheld judgment thinking that it was all going to come together. But as Glenn Greenwald has so well-documented here, the Obama administration has disappointed so incredibly deeply that I feel I’m turning against him. And it’s possible that Robert Gibbs has got to go.
